साहित्य एवं अभिलेख

आरम्भिक परिचय 

  • हरियाणा भारत का एक राज्य है। राज्य में सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता के कई स्थल हैं, जो कि इस सभ्यता के उद्गम स्थल है। महाभारत में हरियाणा का उल्लेख बहुधानयक क्षेत्र के रूप में किया गया है।
  • हरियाणा पर गुप्त साम्राज्य, पुष्यभूति वंश, गुर्जर-प्रतिहार वंश, तोमर वंश, शाकंभरी के चाहमान, घुरिद वंश, दिल्ली सल्तनत, मुगल साम्राज्य, दुर्रानी साम्राज्य, मराठा साम्राज्य, जॉर्ज थॉमस, ग्वालियर राज्य, कंपनी और ब्रिटिश राज  सहित विभिन्न गैर-देशी राज्यों का शासन रहा है।
  • दिल्ली सल्तनत और मुगल साम्राज्य के दौरान, हरियाणा को दिल्ली सुबा के नाम से जाना जाता था। कई ऐतिहासिक रूप से इसमें महत्वपूर्ण लड़ाइयाँ लड़ी गई हैं जैसे तराइन की लड़ाई, पानीपत की लड़ाई और करनाल की लड़ाई लड़ी गई।
  • मुगलों के बाद, हरियाणा मराठा साम्राज्य के अधीन आ गया । सुरजी-अंजनगांव की संधि के बाद 1803, हरियाणा को ब्रिटिश साम्राज्य में मिला लिया गया था और बाद में उत्तर पश्चिम प्रांतों में विलय कर दिया गया था। बाद में 1857 के विद्रोह के दंड स्वरूप अप्रैल 1858 में हरियाणा  जो उस समय दिल्ली का भाग था, को पंजाब प्रांत में मिला दिया गया ।
  • ब्रिटिश औपनिवेशिक काल के दौरान, 1858 से 1947 तक यह पंजाब प्रांत के एक हिस्से के रूप में प्रशासित किया गया था। यह 1 नवम्बर 1966 में भारत का एक अलग प्रशासनिक राज्य बना। चंडीगढ़ पंजाब और हरियाणा राज्यों की संयुक्त राजधानी है।

हरियाणा के प्राचीन इतिहास के स्त्रोत:

  • वैदिक साहित्य: सरस्वती एवं दृषद्वती नदी का उल्लेख, शतपथ ब्राह्मण में हरियाणा की भाषा का उल्लेख ।
  • बौद्ध साहित्य: पपंचसुदनि एवं मंझिमनिकाय में हरियाणा का उल्लेख। दिव्यावदान में रोहतक और अग्रोहा का उल्लेख ।
  • जैन साहित्य: अग्रोहा जैन धर्म का केंद्र था, महान जैन विद्वान लोहाचार्य का वर्णन मिलता है। पुष्पदन्त के महापुराण और श्रीधर की पासणाहचरिउ में हरियाणा का उल्लेख  ।
  • महाभारत: आरण्यक पर्व में वर्णन तथा नकुल दिग्विजयम में रोहतक का उल्लेख ।

हरियाणा के इतिहास के अभिलेखीय स्रोत: 

  • अशोक का टोपड़ा अभिलेख:  हरियाणा मौर्य साम्राज्य के अधीन । 
  • तोशाम अभिलेख: 4-5वीं सदी । आचार्य सोमत्रात द्वारा दो तालाब और एक मंदिर बनाने का उल्लेख ।
  • हिसार का स्तंभ लेख: चौथी पांचवीं सदी के इस लेख में तीर्थ यात्रियों के नाम है इससे ज्ञात होता है कि जिस स्थान पर यह अभिलेख था वह कभी तीर्थ स्थान था।
  • सोनीपत का ताम्रपत्र लेख: राजाओं की वंशावली दी गई है। इस लेख से हमें इन राजाओं की उपाधियों और इनके व्यक्तिगत धर्म का भी ज्ञान होता है। इससे हमें पता चलता है कि हर्ष, शैव धर्म को मानने वाला था जबकि बाकी सभी शासक सूर्य के उपासक थे।
  • प्रतिहार काललीन अभिलेख: राजा भोज के काल के दो अभिलेख पेहवा व सिरसा व महेंद्रपाल का एक अभिलेख पेहवा से प्राप्त हुआ है।
  • राजा भोज के अभिलेख: प्राचीन काल में पेहवा, व्यापार एवं संस्कति का प्रमुख केंद्र था तथा सिरसा पाशुपत संप्रदाय का महत्वपूर्ण स्थान था।
  • महेंद्रपाल का पेहवा अभिलेख:  तोमर वंश की वंशावली । पेहवा उत्तरी भारत का घोड़ों के व्यापार का प्रमुख केंद्र था। यहां प्रति वर्ष साल के एक विशेष दिन घोड़ों का मेला लगता था जिसमें सारे देश के घोड़ों के व्यापारी घोड़े खरीदने व बेचने के लिए एकत्रित होते थे।
  • दिल्‍ली (शिवालिक) का स्तंभ लेख: इस लेख से हमें ज्ञात होता है कि चाहमान- राजा विग्रह राज-IV ने तोमरों को पराजित किया था।
  • हॉँसी से प्राप्त पृथ्वीराज-॥ का अभिलेख: हरियाणा में चाहमान शासन की जानकारी के लिए यह अभिलेख महत्वपूर्ण है। इस अभिलेख से हमें ज्ञात होता है कि पृथ्वीराज –II नें अपने चाचा विल्हण को हांसी के किले का कार्यभार सौंपा था ताकि हांसी को मुस्लिम आक्रमणकारियों से बचाया जा सके।
  • पालम बावली तथा दिल्‍ली संग्रहालय अभिलेख: इनसे हरियाणा के इतिहास से संबंधित महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी प्राप्त होती है। दिल्‍ली अभिलेख में हरियाणा को स्वर्ग बताया गया है। जिसमें ढिल्लिका (दिल्ली) भी सम्मिलित है, जिसे तोमरों ने स्थापित किया था।

प्रमुख अभिलेखों के विषय में अन्य तथ्य :

  • कपाल-मोचन का अधुरा अभिलेख और बारहखड़ी की लिखाई का अभिलेख (सुध) –  जगाधरी (यमुनानगर)
  • अशोक कालीन टोपरा अभिलेख, जिससे पता चलता है कि हरियाणा कभी मौर्य साम्राज्य का हिस्सा था –  यमुनानगर 
  • आचार्य सोमात्र द्वारा दो तालाबों और एक मंदिर निर्माण की जानकारी देने वाला, विष्णु भगत शोभगाता अभिलेख जो कि चौथी या पांचवी सदी का अभिलेख है – तोशाम अभिलेख – (भिवानी)
  • यौधेय गणराज्य की मोहरे – नौरंगाबाद (भिवानी)
  • सरोवर की जानकारी देने वाला खरोष्टी लिपी का अभिलेख – करनाल खरोष्ठी लिपि अभिलेख 
  • सात स्वरों की जानकारी देने वाला अभिलेख –अग्रोहा (हिसार)
  • गुजरी महल के स्तंभ पर आठ लेखों वाला स्तंभ – हिसार
  • बादशाह हुमायूँ का अभिलेख – फतेहाबाद
  • पशुपति सम्प्रदाय का अभिलेख – सिरसा
  • लाओस देश के राजा देव का कुरुक्षेत्र की प्रशंसा करने वाला अभिलेख – कुरुक्षेत्र
  • नौवीं शताब्दी का भोजदेव का पेहोवा अभिलेख – कुरुक्षेत्र
  • लाडनूँ अभिलेख जो कि हरियाणा की राजधानी दिल्ली को दर्शाता है – लाडनूँ (राजस्थान)
  • विष्णु की मूर्ति – मोहनवाड़ी (झज्जर)
  • यौधेय कालीन साँचे – खोखराकोट (रोहतक)
  • श्री कृष्ण व उनके कार्यों से संबंधित चित्रकला, जो कि छाया शैली में है – रेवाड़ी
  • सुध अभिलेख – यह जगाधरी (यमुनानगर) में है। इसमें एक बच्चे को तख्ती पर अनुसर्ग एवं विसर्ग अक्षरों का लेखन करते हुए दिखाया गया है। जिसे पुरे भारत में बारह खड़ी की लिखाई का सबसे पुराना नमूना माना जाता है।
  • करनाल अभिलेख – यह अभिलेख खरोष्ठी लिपी में है जो अपूर्ण है। क्योंकि इसके कुछ अक्षरों को ही पढ़ा गया है।
